Alaskan Brewing Beers: Keeping You Warm All Winter Long

Alaskan Brewing Beers: Keeping You Warm All Winter Long

The official start of winter is just days away, and we’re all wondering what kind of weather it will bring this year. One thing we do know is how we’re going to stay warm and enjoy ourselves this winter. We’re going to sip on some Alaskan Brewing beers!

Recently, Skeff Distributing welcomed Alaskan Brewing to Illinois and to our own portfolio of beers. It was a long-anticipated welcome and an exciting one. Now, we’re excited to share some of these great-tasting beers with you!

Each of these beers is brewed with glacier-fed water that comes from the 1,500 square-mile Juneau Ice Field and the rainfall the area receives every year, so you can taste a little bit of Alaska with every sip.

Alaskan White Ale

Based on a Belgian-style wit bier, Alaskan White Ale (5.3% ABV) is a throwback to a historic style beer that dates back to the 18th century. Fittingly, the label features a (white) polar bear, which will help you find the 6-pack bottles you’ll be looking for on shelves in the beer aisle!

Alaskan White Ale

According to the brewers, “Alaskan White Ale has a soft, slightly sweet base with a unique spice aroma of coriander and crisp, citrus finish of orange peel,” which makes for a “complex and delicate beer that is deliciously refreshing in any season.” We’ll take a round, please!

Alaskan Amber AleAlaskan Amber Ale

Next in the lineup is the award-winning Alaskan Amber Ale (5.3% ABV), an alt-style beer. In German, “alt” means “old,” so read it as an “old-style beer.” This refers to the aging process – both slower and colder than most ales – that gives it an “overall balance and smoothness,” the brewers say.

This richly malty beer is available both on tap and in 6-pack bottles, so you can enjoy it at home or when you’re out and about!

Husky IPAAlaskan Husky IPA

Named after the “hardest-working athletes of the North,” the Husky IPA (7% ABV) is sure to go down quick! The brewers describe Husky IPA as having “brilliant clarity,” as well as “tropical and stone fruit flavors with aromas of tangerine and papaya.” The recipe is based on a small batch SMaSH Mosaic IPA, which means it uses only one hop and one malt to bring out the desired flavors and aromas of each.

Husky IPA is also available on tap and in 6-pack bottles, so enjoy them as you please, in the comfort of your own home or your favorite watering hole!

Hopothermia

And then there’s, Hopothermia (8.5% ABV) for when you’re feeling really cold and in need something hoppy! You can find this American Double IPA on tap, and share the legend that inspired it over a pint or two. Legend says a lone brewer crafted Hopothermia after dreaming of a Double IPA that would keep the wolves from his door in the dead of winter.

It’s a “full-flavored” Double IPA with “a robust malt body, resting in easy harmony, like a massive grizzly bear in winter, with a big and drinkable American hop character,” the brewers tell us. It also has a “floral aroma and citrus hop base” and “notes of spicy grapefruit and orange.”

Alaskan Hopothermia

No matter which Alaskan beer you choose, you’re sure to enjoy it, to want more, and to tell your friends about it. Or if you want a taste of them all, get yourselves a 12-pack bottle sampler pack, see what you like, and go back for more of your top choices later!

Stay warm this winter with Alaskan Brewing beers. Cheers!
